The Claims Process - How to Report a Claim

A) Report Your Claim

You can report a claim three ways:

1) Contacting our claims department by phone

2) Fill out our online WebClaim forms

3) Contacting your local Insurance Broker

B) We Will Contact You

Once your claim has been initiated, an adjuster will be assigned to your claim, and will contact you within 2 to 4 hours of your claim being assigned. For claims received after-hours, you will be contacted promptly on the next business day.

The adjuster will verify all details as initially provided and obtain, if required, additional information required needed for your claim.

C) Accessing Damages and Repairs

For automobile claims, your adjuster will direct you to one of Family’s preferred Inspection Facilities where an estimate will be completed and photographs taken.

Once the estimate has been completed, you have the choice of remaining with the Inspection Facility for repairs or to have your shop of choice complete repairs. (All repairs completed by our preferred Inspection/Repair Facilities carry a double guarantee for as long as you continue to own your vehicle.)

Arrange with the shop for a suitable date/time for repairs to begin on your vehicle. The repair time is dependant on the severity of the damage and availability of parts.

If you have purchased optional Loss of Use coverage, the policy will provide for in the stipulated amount, a replacement vehicle. If your vehicle is being repaired at one of our preferred Inspection/Repair Facilities, the facility will arrange the rental on your behalf.

D) Completion of Repairs / Treatments / Restorations

For automobile claims, once repairs have been completed you will be contacted by the shop and advised your vehicle is now ready to be picked up. Any deductible and/or applicable taxes will be paid directly to the shop upon completion of repairs. Rental vehicle/courtesy vehicle, if applicable, are to be returned immediately upon completion of repairs.
