Family Insurance has been offering our Auto and Home insurance products in B.C. for over a decade. Family Insurance is a Vancouver based member of The Economical Insurance Group. The Underwriting Department of Family Insurance Solutions Inc. has an immediate opening for a Junior Underwriting Administrative Assistant. This is an excellent career opportunity for an energetic, service oriented, team player wanting to get a start in insurance. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing administrative and broker support to the Underwriting department.

Specific Responsibilities:

o Provide administrative assistance to the Underwriting Department
o Provide reception coverage as needed
o Data entry into Family's Point of Sale System
o Order inspections and tracking orders
o Send policy cancellation letters by registered mail
o Various accounting reconciliations as required on monthly & ad hoc basis
o Premium calculations on both auto and property policies.
o Generate and complete reports for work related tasks
o File / photocopy / other admin tasks
o Provide broker support for Auto and Property Underwriters which includes but is not limited to: contacting brokerages regarding premium reconciliations, following up on information missing or duplicated declaration pages

Requirements:

Requirements:
o Professional, friendly and courteous in all interactions, whether with customers or co-workers
o Performs well in a busy operation and remains calm under pressure
o Problem solving in relation to premium calculations and as issues arise
o Adaptable to a changing office environment with excellent organizational and time management skills
o Works independently but still collaborates with stakeholders when appropriate
o Strong written and verbal English communication skills
o Attention to detail when processing repetitive tasks
o Must enjoy what you do

Qualifications:
o Experience with MS Office Suite, specifically with Word and Excel
o Minimum 1 year previous clerical experience
o Grade 12 and some post secondary education required.
o Experience in an insurance environment an asset
